The phrase “2B1ASK1″ has become the standard for promotion of Masonic membership because the Masonic organization does not promote recruiting of new members. A new member must ask of his own free will for an application for membership.

First you must meet the following conditions:

  • You have attained the Legal age of twenty one
  • You have lived in the county for (at least) one year if you are applying in this county. Or in an adjoining county. (Just ask)
  • You are of good moral character.
  • You are NOT a felon or habitual criminal.
  • You believe in the laws of our country.
  • You are free from a disqualifying mental illness.
  • You believe in a Supreme Being.
  • You are willing to assume the Masonic obligation.

Then, you would contact the Secretary of the Lodge you wish to join in order to obtain a Petition. Any member may obtain the petition and give it to you, at your request.

After you completely fill out the Petition, you return it with the proper fees to the Lodge Secretary or the Brother whom gave it to you. The Petition is submitted to an Investigation Committee that will arrange to meet with you. They will verify your moral intent and ask you a few simple questions. This is an opportunity to meet some of the Lodge’s members and to ask any questions of your own.

The next step is for the Petition and the Investigating Committee’s report to be presented in a meeting. A vote will be taken in order to elect or deny the Petition. If this vote is favorable, the Secretary will contact you to arrange for your initiation into the Lodge. To join Lodge Southern Cross 44 or for more info contact:
